Access

By boat or by plane. Semarang - Jepara about 1.5 hour by car (100 km), then Jepara (Kartini Harbour) - Karimunjawa, about 5 hours by ferry (twice a week), or Semarang - Kemujan Island by plane (once a week.

Characteristic

1116 km2; Karimunjawa Archipelago - mainly marine national park - comprising 27 small islands, mostly uninhabited. Waved landscape with elevation ranging from 0–506 meters above sea level. Typical ecosystems: sea and sea coast, coral reefs, mangroves, tropical rain forest.
