Localization
East of Sri Lanka, 197 km from Colombo and 30 km from Polonnaruwa.
Access
Easy. Kaudulla can be reached by Colombo - Trincomalee main road. The entrance to Kaudulla is 22 km north of the village of Habarana.
Characteristic
6900 ha; Flat to hilly area situated in a dry zone of Sri Lanka. Park is situated around the ancient Kaudulla tank.Typical ecosystems: dry evergreen scrub forest, grasslands, wetlands and freshwater ecosystems connected with the water tank.

Note
The newest Sri Lanka national park - opened in 2002.

Outside the dry season much of the park is under water.
